BrIggs and Stratton 17.5 HP Engine

Excellent price on engine with free shipping it arrived at my home within two days after ordering very fast the install went well it was almost an exact replacement for my zero turn lawn mower only thing I had to add from my old engine was the oil dip stick tube and fuel pump since my fuel tank is lower than the engine but the unit does come ready for gravity flow type mowers so keep this in mind if replacing for a mower where the fuel tank is lower than the engine.

17.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine

This was an exact replacement for the Koehler engine in my 42” riding mower. Same mounting bolt pattern and crankshaft dimensions but I did have to figure out how to do the wiring. The owners manual that came with the engine was useless in that respect. After watching a few YouTube videos I was able to figure out how to do it. My only complaint is that the mounting bolt holes don’t come threaded and I had to tap the threads myself. The trick is to open the box from the bottom and the packing foam holds the engine securely while you tap the threads from the bottom. Real easy to do and you can buy a tap & die set from harbor freight tools for 10 bucks. Be sure to use plenty of oil while tapping the threads. Shipping was very fast. I got it in 2 days!! Overall I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend. Hope this helps. Happy trails 😊
